Legal & Compliance Assistant
Description of the Position:
The Legal & Compliance Assistant will support the legal department with administrative and compliance-related tasks, including maintaining contract records, assisting with standard contracts, responding to data privacy requests, processing invoices for payment, and coordinating corporate filings such as annual state reports, and other administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract & Document Management
- Maintain and organize contract records, ensuring proper archiving and retrieval.
- Assist with the Company’s standard agreements, including initial contract review and preparation.
- Data Privacy & Compliance Support
- Manage and respond to data privacy requests, ensuring timely processing.
- Monitor websites to confirm compliance with internal policies, audit findings, and regulatory standards.
- Complete compliance forms, applications, surveys, and questionnaires as required.
- Corporate Filings & Administrative Support
- Coordinate and process corporate filings, including annual state reports.
- Assist in invoice processing and liaise with internal teams for approvals and payments.
- Perform general secretarial and clerical tasks to support the legal team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support cross-departmental compliance initiatives, ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are met.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the legal and compliance team.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent); a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Licensed attorney in Armenia; an additional bar admission in another jurisdiction is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in legal work or legal and compliance roles within a law firm, corporation, international organization, or other relevant employment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) with strong legal drafting and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with contract management, corporate filings, and compliance processes (including data privacy and security legal and regulatory compliance) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management systems, and compliance tools is preferred.
Additional Considerations:
- Study abroad experience in an English-speaking program is a plus.
